The Asociacion Dominicana de Profesionales y Estudiantes del Derecho (ADED), a partner organization of ELSA, is happy to host a Summer Law School for the first time out of Europe! This SLS will be held in the first city of the New World, the exotic town of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Here you ́ll learn about “Criminal Law; Bribery & Economic Crimes”. But with a different learning approach; our professors will practice Research-Led teaching, which is an alternative that allow us to go beyond the textbooks, exploring research, experience and synthesizing teaching. This tool will provide you to reflect on your own understanding, facilitating a general, but practical insight of Criminal Law, bribery, economic crimes and how they fluctuate in society.
The program includes lectures, workshops and institutional visits to criminal courts, prisons, judges, and prosecutors, etc. Moreover, our team will arrange an interesting social program. Where you ́ll find the first court, the first bar, the first street, the first church of America, but also our beautiful beaches from Juan Dolio and Punta Cana. ADED ́s SLS aims to provide a varied, up-to-date and internationally-orientated academic
program. It will consist of seminars, lectures and workshops at the Faculty of Law and
Political Sciences of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (1st University of the
New World, established in 1538). There we will explore many different issues in this field
of law from many perspectives, such as legal academics, lawyers, and organizations. The
academic program will also include visits to criminal courts, the Senate, Chamber of
Representatives, ONGs, etc.
