Brussels – EU Institutional Law

Description

The very first Summer ELSA Law School organised by ELSA Belgium will take place in Brussels, the centre of European Union Institutions, from the 2nd to the 9th of August 2020.

The academic programme will focus on familiarising the participants with the institutions of the European Union as well as the laws that shape it. The participants will acquire new knowledge and skills through a variety of lectures but also through more interactive ways of teaching as the Parliament simulation and institutional visits. In fact, as part of the academic programme participants will be visiting the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Council and the European Economic and Social Committee.

Concerning the social programme, participants will have the chance to party as Belgian do, which means there will be a visit to the Delirium (a pub with more than 2000 beers), pub crawling, national drinks party, karaoke night and of course an outstanding Gala Ball.

The cultural programme will include tasting of Belgian beers, chocolate, fries and waffles as well as a sightseeing of the amazing city of Brussels (visit of the Grand place, the Manneken Pis, the Atomium). Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Bruges, one of the most beautiful cities of Belgium, also called the "Belgian Venice".
