Cambridge Summer Institute is an exclusive short-term study programme offed by Magdalene College, University of Cambridge (UK), in partnership with WorldStrides | CBL International. The programme aims to give undergraduates, graduates and young professionals the opportunity to study in Cambridge in an academic subject of their choosing.

Magdalene College, also known as the College of St Mary Magdalene, is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge (UK), an is located in the center of Cambridge beside the bridge over the River Cam. The College has its origins in 1428 when King Henry VI approved the establishment of a hostel on the site for Benedictine monks coming from their monasteries in the Fenland to study Canon Law at the University.

Four two-week sessions are held in Cambridge:

Session I: 1 July – 14 July 2018

Session II: 15 July – 28 July 2018

Session III: 29 July – 11 August 2018

Session IV: 12 August – 25 August 2018

Upon successful completion on the programme, Magdalene College will issue a certificate and an academic transcript to the participants, which may be accountable for optional credits depending on the requirements of the participant’s home institution/school/university. Each week on the programme is designed to be equivalent to 2-3 ECTS credits or 1-1.5 US credits.

Maximum participation fees

The tuition fee includes all lectures, course materials, a corporate day in London, academic evening talks, scheduled cultural activities, and excursions.

Staying at Magdalene College is a fantastic way to fully experience student life in Cambridge. Accommodation is offered on a bed and breakfast basis, with a single room and shared bathroom facilities. If you would also like to have lunch and dinner in the unique college dining hall, a full board option is available.

An assignment will be given during each course (one examination per week). Course examination results will be listed in your official academic transcript. Workload of Summer Institute at Oriel College Oxford is designed to be equivalent to:

  • 4-6 ECTS (2-3 US credits) per two-week session
  • 8-12 ECTS (4-6 US credits) per four-week session
