ELSA İzmir is organising the first edition of its Summer ELSA Law School on IP and IT Law at the İzmir University of Economics, which will take place from August 4-  11,2024. Our SELS will be held in the peaceful city of Balçova. Bring your sunglasses and prepare yourself for an amazing journey!

Our SELS will give Participants the opportunity to delve into IP & IT Law in the technologically advanced environment of İzmir University of Economy, one of Turkey's foremost institutions supporting innovation. The Academic Programme will feature highly experienced and knowledgeable academics and lawyers in the fields of IP & IT Law, making it a rich and fulfilling experience. Apart from their academic adventures, Participants will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a diverse range of topics, from the fundamentals of IP Law to cutting-edge discussions on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. We plan for our SELS to be a captivating 7-day exploration of İzmir's cultural heritage and dynamic social scene. During our SELS, Participants will uncover the ancient wonders of the House of Virgin Mary and Ephesus Museum, then indulge in a series of fun events, aimed to create friendships and cherished memories. From sophisticated soirées to delectable kebab nights and intimate Turkish coffee gatherings, Participants will immerse themselves in the essence of Turkish hospitality amidst the city's vibrant ambience and experience an unforgettable fusion of history, culture, and education.

Our Academic Programme offers a comprehensive exploration of key topics in the field of IP & IT Law, catering to everyone’s academic and professional needs. During the courses, Participants will delve into fundamental concepts of IP Law, such as Intellectual Property Rights, alongside contemporary issues like Copyright challenges in the Digital Age.

Additionally, our Programme features immersive experiences, including institutional visits to the İzmir Mediation Center for practical insights into court litigation. As they navigate emerging trends in Patent Law and landmark cases in Intellectual Property, Participants will gain valuable expertise in providing legal consultancy services.
