WELS Tirana on European Law
ELSA Law Schools are coming to Tirana for its first-ever edition, taking place from January 11 - 18 January, 2026. Organised by ELSA Albania, this WELS opens a new chapter in Albania, offering participants a dynamic blend of academic depth and cultural immersion.
Our host city, Tirana, is the beating heart of Albania: colourful, lively, and constantly reinventing itself. Famous for its painted facades, buzzing cafés, and vibrant nightlife, Tirana is as welcoming as it is surprising. In between sessions, participants can wander through local markets, explore national museums, or relax in the city’s green spaces while soaking up the rhythm of everyday life.
The academic programme is designed as a gateway into the key pillars of European Law. Through lectures, workshops and panel discussions, participants will explore the EU’s structure, legal acts, fundamental freedoms and enlargement policies — all particularly relevant as Albania progresses on its path to EU accession. Sessions will be led by distinguished professors, practicing lawyers and institutional experts, ensuring both rigor and practical insight.
Beyond the classroom, a social and cultural programme will showcase the best of Albanian hospitality. Expect guided tours of Tirana, traditional food and music nights, museum visits, and evenings out in the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. These curated experiences are designed to foster meaningful connections and give participants an authentic sense of place.
This WELS is more than an academic experience — it’s an invitation to witness a country in transformation. By joining us in Tirana, you’ll not only deepen your knowledge of European Law but also discover a destination that’s still underexplored yet unforgettable. Apply to the Winter ELSA Law School Tirana 2026 for a week of learning, culture, and new friendships at the crossroads of Europe.

Subsequent sessions will examine the legal acts of the EU, the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice, and the Union’s role as a legal actor in international law.
